The best burger I’ve had so far in New York – hands down!
Less of a burger, more of a sandwich (which is basically what a burger is anyway, right?), Being Better Underground is a hidden gem in New York’s West Village.
Tucked away in the basement of a very unassuming building on Leroy, Being Better Underground is a lunchtime hot-spot for those ‘in the know’. It’s a small, chaotic kitchen where people shout out their order from wherever they are in the queue. Wanting to spoil myself, I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich (see above) with a side of Mac n’ Cheese. Seriously out of this world goodness.
I feel as though this is one of those moments that warrants the phrase ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’.
Meaty, juicy, sloppy and cushioned between a soft, sesame-topped, brioche-style buns. Oh dear, please excuse me whilst I go wipe the drool off my chin.
